So you want to show your partner how romantic you can be, and are looking for creative and meaningful ways to express your affection to sweep that special person off his/her feet. Get in touch with your inner romantic, because true romance comes from within!
1. Reintroduce the exciting uncertainties. Remember the excitement and inspiration when your relationship was new and just unfolding? You kept wondering what will happen tomorrow? Will he hold my hand? Will he call? Break the monotony of a settled relationship by doing something different – the more out of this world, the better!
2. Woo them. Go all out to show how much you treasure your partner just like when you just met. No one likes to feel they’ve been taken and done with. Keep your relationship hot by staying on your toes and constantly trying to impress!
3. Pay attention. Not everyone likes flowers and chocolates. Dig into what your partner truly fancies. Do they light up at the mention of gourmet food? Or do they fancy a light-hearted romantic comedy? Observe closely whenever they talk animatedly about a pet topic, and you’ve got the keys to sweeping them off their feet with what means most to them, and YOU found that out, simply by knowing what makes them happy.
4. It’s the little things that go a long way. Being romantic doesn’t have to be expensive or grand. Often, the simplest acts have the greatest impact. Think of unusual ways to say “I love you”, like writing on the mirror with a lipstick, or hide small little love notes in her shoes. Drop a “hug” coupon in the briefcase which can be exchanged for a real one at anytime. Make it a habit to find a new way to be romantic every day. Have fun!

5. Be sincerely thankful. For that special person in your life. It takes conscious effort especially if you see that person every day, but that daily sense of gratitude will carry over in your attitudes and actions, and soon you’ll find everyday being the most romantic day of your life!
6. Laugh together. Nothing bonds a couple more than a good laugh together. If it means making yourself out to be a bit of a goof, do it and enjoy watching your partner’s face light up with laughter!
7. Email. A short, sweet email or sms to your partner works better than cliche poems for most people.
8. A surprise gift. Don’t wait until Valentine’s Day to get a gift for your partner. A small gift hamper on Tuesday is more romantic than a bouquet of roses on V-Day.
9. Be old-fashioned. Nothing charms a girl more than when a guy remembers his chivalry. Open the door for her, help her carry her things, walk on the traffic side of the pavement. It’s thoughtful acts like these that mean a ton.
As for girls, allow him to demonstrate his chivalrous side. Let him hold your bag, sit prettily, make eye contact, wipe that stain off his cheek. Act slightly fragile (although we all know you aren’t). Don’t forget to dress up for your man even though you may have been together for a long time. Let your guy know he means enough to you to want to impress him.
